Shortly after President Donald Trumpannounced Sunday that his attorney Rudy Giuliani had tested positive with COVID-19, many on Twitter began sharing videos of Giuliani attending crowded events in recents days without wearing a mask.
'.@RudyGiuliani, by far the greatest mayor in the history of NYC, and who has been working tirelessly exposing the most corrupt election (by far!) in the history of the USA, has tested positive for the China Virus. Get better soon Rudy, we will carry on!!!' Trump tweeted on Sunday afternoon.
Giuliani, who served as New York City's mayor from 1994 to 2001, is currently representing Trump in his unsuccessful legal effort to overturn the results of the presidential election. Over the past couple of weeks, the attorney has held events in multiple battleground states to push unfounded—and often bizarre—claims of widespread voter fraud. These allegations lack evidence and have nearly all been rejected or dismissed by judges in courts across the country.
With the news of Giuliani's COVID diagnosis, many began circulating a video of the attorney without a mask urging a woman during a Michigan hearing to remove her mask as she discussed her concerns about the election. The woman declined in to remove her mask.

In addition to Michigan, Giuliani traveled to Georgia last week and met indoors with Republican leaders there. The prior week, Giuliani attended a hearing in Pennsylvania alongside Republicans, after which at least two GOP state lawmakers tested positive for COVID-19. At the time, Democrats warned that the event had the potential to become a 'super spreader' for the novel coronavirus.

'By NBC's count, at least 53 people in Trump's orbit have tested positive for COVID-19. That number includes administration officials, campaign staffers and close contacts,' NBC News White House correspondent Geoff Bennett tweeted.

Well, here we are. It's been months since the summer and yet Rudy Giuliani is melting down. (Though the guy doesn't seem to have a good grip on the four seasons anyway...) On Thursday, in yet another news conference that nobody asked for, the half-man/half-comic book villain gave a few updates on where the Trump team stands in their attempts to discredit the presidential election.
During the address, Giuliani presented several unfounded claims of voter fraud in Michigan and Pennsylvania. He also insisted that an 'elite strike force' would be investigating the results of the 2020 election further. Even before Saturday, November 7th, when Joe Biden and Kamala Harris were announced as the nation's next President and Vice President, President Trump and his loyal followers have been trying to cast doubt on the validity of the election. Now that includes sending out figures such as Giuliani to spread misinformation about everything from mail-in balloting to the nation's poll workers.
At this point, the whole shtick feels like a canceled TV show that's still airing re-runs. But just as the temptation to look away from the madness creeps in, the writers of 2020 keep us watching. For it was Giuliani's bad hair day at the press conference, complete with leaking dye job, that had social media buzzing. The persistent dribble of dark hair tint seemed an apt physical representation of his stream of lies. In addition to complicating our feelings about molasses and soy sauce for the foreseeable future, it also inspired some hilarious instant memes on Twitter.
